A clinical breast exam is a physical examination performed by a healthcare provider trained to identify any lumps, abnormalities, or changes in breast tissue. During this examination, the provider manually examines the breasts and surrounding areas, including the armpits, to detect any unusual findings that may require further investigation. This hands-on approach allows the healthcare provider to assess the breast health of the individual comprehensively.

Unlike a blood test for cancer, which is not directly related to breast tissue assessment, the clinical breast exam specifically focuses on the physical attributes of the breasts.
